Comments 0 | Recommend 0Four Sul Ross State University coeds will compete for the 2008 Miss Rodeo Sul Ross title at the 63rd annual National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA) before rodeo competitions at 7 p.m. Saturday at the S.A.L.E. Arena in Alpine. Rodeo Queen candidates and reigning queen are, from left: Kaydi Kubala, El Campo, graduate student, animal science; Amanda Renfro, North Richland Hills, junior, kinesiology; 2007 Queen Sarah Ashley David, Kaufman; Alexandra Ashburner, Alpine, Ariz., a freshman majoring in veterinary technology; and Sally Schmidt, Carrizo Springs, sophomore, animal science. General admission is $5 and children under 12 and Sul Ross faculty, staff and students with ID are free. Other events include slacks beginning at 9 a.m., competitions at 7 p.m. today and Saturday, and a dance, featuring the music of the Kenny Terry Band, following tonight's performance at the corral adjacent to the S.A.L.E. Arena. The dance is sponsored by campus activities and the School of Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences.
