Sandhills accident
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Two separate all terrain vehicle accidents at the Kermit Sandhills this weekend have sent three people to the hospital.
About 4 p.m. Saturday, 44-year-old Wendy Osborn and 44-year-old Stephen Osborn from Mansfield were airlifted to Medical Center Hospital in Odessa after they lost control of their Kawasaki Teryx 750 four-wheeler at the Kermit Sandhills Winkler County Sheriff Robert Roberts said.
Stephen was driving and Wendy was his passenger when they jumped over a sand dune and collided with a parked ATV, Roberts said. The Osborns were thrown off the ATV and Roberts said the both Osborns suffered a head injury. Medical Center Hospital had no information on the condition of either patient.
At 5:34 p.m. Sunday, Todd Minnis of Houston lost control of his Polaris 500 while he was jumping sand hills Roberts said. Minnis was airlifted to MCH head injuries Roberts said.
Minnis is currently listed in stable condition at MCH.
