Midland man struck while walking on Interstate 20

MIDLAND COUNTY A Midland man was struck and killed in an early Saturday accident while walking on Interstate 20 east of Midland, according to a DPS report from Trooper Dwayne Dickson.
DPS communications operator S. Pacheco, who read Dickson's report, said Nicholas David Garcia, 30, was walking in an unknown direction on the eastbound lanes of the freeway when a 2006 Volvo driven by Larry Dawn Schmall of Azle ran over him at 2:04 a.m. Saturday.
Garcia was pronounced dead at the scene.
No citations were issued in the accident, according to the report.
