    Motorcycle accident

    Law enforcement officials investigate Tuesday incident

    Bobby Ray Tomlinson, a 49-year-old Gardendale resident, died Tuesday night in a motorcycle accident in the 8100 block of North Grandview near Loop 338.

    According to a news release from the Odessa Police Department, Tomlinson was riding a 2000 Harley-Davidson motorcycle northbound on Grandview. Police said Tomlinson "failed to control speed causing the motorcycle to leave the roadway." Tomlinson then lost control and crashed, police said.

    Tomlinson was pronounced dead at the scene by the Ector County Medical Examiner.

    Odessa police and fire, Ector County sheriff's deputies and Texas Department of Public Safety troopers were called to the acciodent scene around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.

    The crash is currently under investigation.
