PECOS A 58-year-old New Mexico man has been sentenced to more than 11 years in federal prison after he pleaded guilty to child pornography charges in January.
U.S. Attorney Johhny Sutton said in a news release that Aaron Scott Elkins, a Sul Ross graduate student from Alamogordo, N.M., was sentenced to 11 years and three months in prison after a 2004 investigation into his computer found more than 2,000 images depicting minors engaged in sexual acts, the news release said.
U.S. District Judge Rob Junell ordered Elkins to be placed under supervised release for 10 years after completing his prison term.
