Two men arrested near Hood Jr. High after fleeing police

Odessa police arrested two people early Tuesday morning, but what exactly they were doing before the arrest was still being worked out, as of the afternoon.

Police responded to a call around 1:48 a.m. about several people trying to break down a door at La Promesa Del Norte apartments, 4590 N. Texas Ave., OPD Cpl. Sherrie Carruth said.

While on their way, there was a report of shots fired at the scene, and after arriving, the officers found that no one had entered the apartment but they saw a white Chevrolet pickup belonging to a possible suspect around 38th Street and Eisenhower Road, Carruth said.

Two people then fled from the truck on foot and after police set up a perimeter for several hours, they detained both in the 600 block of East 42nd Street.

Quandrevius Harris, 2402 Holloway Ave., Midland, and Shawn Douglas Love, 4508 W. Roosevelt Drive, Midland, were arrested and charged with class A misdemeanor evading arrest at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Both were being held on a $1,000 bond at the Ector County Detention Center Thursday afternoon.

No one has been arrested in connection with the shots that were fired, Carruth said.

If anyone has information regarding the incident call OPD at 333-3641 or Crime Stoppers at 333-TIPS.
