Police Blotter: July 31, 2010

The following is a list of felony criminal activities reported to the police. Numbered addresses of crime victims’ private residences and locations where crimes occur are rounded to the nearest hundred block.

AGGRAVATED ROBBERY
>> An Oklahoma City, Okla., man reported someone took his cash and injured him, causing his left eye to swell, while displaying a deadly weapon at 10 p.m. Wednesday in the 2700 block of East Eighth Street.

BURGLARY OF A BUILDING
>> Holcomb Storage, 1313 W. 10th St., reported someone cut a lock off of a gate and storage unit, causing a total of $1,100 in damage, and took eight boxes of electronics and two coolers worth a total of $640 between 9 p.m. Wednesday and 2:45 p.m. Thursday in the 1300 block of West 10th Street.

BURGLARY OF A HABITATION
>> An Odessa woman reported someone forced entry and took a $755.99 notebook computer between 5:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. Thursday in the 2100 block of West Third Street.
>> An Odessa man reported someone damaged two alarms worth a total of $10 and took two televisions worth a total of $3,700 between 6:23 a.m. and 7:38 a.m. Thursday in the 300 block of Crockett Street.
>> An Odessa man reported someone entered his garage and took 10 car parts worth a total of $1,200 between 10 p.m. Wednesday and 7:30 a.m. Friday in the 500 block of East 44th Street.
>> An Odessa woman reported someone took a videogame console, six games and two laptop computers worth a total of $1,950 and assorted coins of an unknown value, between 8 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the 500 block of East 89th Street.  

THEFT
>> A 48-year-old Odessa man was arrested and charged with felony theft at 5:44 p.m. Wednesday after Dollar General, 1355 W. University Blvd., reported someone took $56 worth of assorted hygiene products. The products were recovered.
Michael Wesley Griffin, 310 N. Oliver Ave., was being held Friday at the Ector County Detention Center on a $15,000 bond.
