    Three-car accident

    Comments 0 | Recommend 0

Five people including a baby boy were sent to the hospital Tuesday afternoon following a three-car accident at the intersection of University Boulevard and Hilltop Drive.

OPD Cpl. David Lara said a silver 2007 Kia Rio, driven by Leticia Maria Haro, collided with the vehicle of Deshonna Hill, who was driving eastbound on University Boulevard. The collision caused Hill to lose control of her 2009 Honda Civic, drive across the lawn at 1308 University Blvd. and collide with Estella Lamb’s 2009 Dodge Caliber parked in the driveway at 1400 University Blvd.

Lamb was in her kitchen getting ready to leave for Walmart when Hill drove through a pair of trees colliding with the Dodge.

“I heard everything,” Lamb said as she viewed her car on her front porch. “I can’t believe this.”

A male passenger in the Kia, Thomas Lazano and a 1-year-old baby boy, Vincent Salvador Laguna, along with Hill and a female cousin were taken by ambulance to Medical Center Hospital.

Hill’s father, William Hill, said another cousin in the car was given a ride to the hospital.

Lead Administrative Coordinator at Medical Center Hospital Debra Richardson said all of the injured are still being evaluated in the emergency room.

According to OPD Public Information Officer Sherrie Carruth, there will be no citations or charges issued Tuesday and more information could be available this morning. Carruth also said the investigation could take up to two days.
