    The following is a list of felony criminal activities reported to the police.

    Numbered addresses of locations where crimes occur are rounded to the nearest hundred block.

     

    AGGRAVATED SEXUAL ASSAULT OF A CHILD

    >> Someone reported a child was sexually assaulted in June 2008 at a home in north Odessa.

     

    BURGLARY OF A BUILDING

    >> A 20-year-old man and a 33-year-old man, both of Odessa, were charged with burglary of a building after an Odessa woman reported someone entered a storage building and took a three-piece luggage set and a fish fryer worth a total of $140 between 7:50 a.m. and 8 a.m. Thursday in the 4600 block of Sandra Lane. The luggage set, worth $75, was recovered.

    Issac Anthony Rodriguez, 1013 Placer Ave., was being held Friday at the Ector County Detention Center on bonds totaling $16,000.

    Frederick Brown, 1215 Milburn St. Apt. 2W, was being held Friday at the Ector County Detention Center on a $15,000 bond.

     

    BURGLARY OF A HABITATION

    >> An Odessa woman reported someone caused $400 in damage to a door and door frame, entered her home and took two video gaming systems, a video game controller, a DVD/VHS combo unit, a laptop computer, a digital scale and perfume worth a total of $2,175 between noon and 5:45 p.m. Thursday in the 3500 block of Boulder Avenue.

    >> An Odessa woman reported someone caused a total of $2,500 in damage to a window and door frame, entered her home and took a .45-caliber handgun, a video camera and a laptop computer worth a total of $2,457 between 8:15 a.m. and 3:50 p.m. Thursday in the 3700 block of East 28th Street.

     

    ENGAGING IN ORGANIZED CRIMINAL ACTIVITY

    >> Four Odessa men, ages 18, 22, 21 and 20, were each charged with engaging in organized criminal activity after 7-Eleven, 5100 E. University Blvd., reported they smashed three windows, damaged three Styrofoam ice chests and a door retractor worth a total of $2,668, then entered the store and took two cases of beer worth a total of $23.98 at 2:59 a.m. Friday. The beer was recovered at 3075 E. U.S. Highway 80.

    William Tyler Guinn, 1510 Graham Ave., Lupe Abila Jr., 4801 Oakwood Drive, Cody McElmancy, 910 W. 21st St., and John Mark Pool, 919 W. 21st St., were all being held Friday at the Ector County Detention Center on bonds of $25,000 each.

     

    POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA

    >> A 45-year-old West Odessa man was charged with a felony count of possession of marijuana following a narcotics investigation at 9:47 a.m. Thursday in the 12600 block of West Maria Drive.

    Ernest Gilbert Byer, 12661 W. Maria Drive, was being held Friday at the Ector County Detention Center on a $15,000 bond.

     

    POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE / EVADING ARREST DETENTION WITH A VEHICLE

    >> A 29-year-old Odessa man was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance and evading arrest or detention with a vehicle at 12:13 a.m. Friday at an undisclosed location.

    Remigio Pineda, 195 E. Glenn St., was being held Friday at the Ector County Detention Center on bonds totaling $26,000 on one possession charge and a misdemeanor charge, but bonds were not set Friday for a second possession of a controlled substance charge and the evading charge.

     

    POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE / THEFT OF A FIREARM

    >> A 26-year-old Odessa man was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and theft of a firearm after police found a firearm that was reported stolen at 4:20 a.m. July 3 in the 7100 block of West Dunn Street.

    Eloy Garcia Tavarez, 7133 W. Dunn St., posted bonds totaling $35,000 July 4.

     

    PROHIBITED SUBSTANCE INSIDE A CORRECTIONAL FACILITY / POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

    >> An 18-year-old Odessa man was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance at 9:58 p.m. Thursday in the 800 block of East Odessa Street. He was later charged with carrying a prohibited substance inside a correctional facility at the Ector County Detention Center, 2500 S. U.S. Highway 385.

    Tony Lamont Reed, 1000 E. Monahans St. Apt. 707, was being held Friday at the Ector County Detention Center on bonds totaling $41,185.

     

    THEFT

    >> An Odessa man reported someone took a generator, air compressor and mounting rack worth a total of $4,700, in addition to a trailer of an undetermined value between 6 p.m. July 2 and 6 a.m. Wednesday in the 1400 block of Royalty Avenue.

    >> Texas Computers, 4526 E. University Blvd., reported someone the business knew took a computer worth $4,000 from the business between noon April 1 and noon Thursday.

    >> An Odessa man reported someone took his blue 2008 Yamaha Raptor ATV worth $10,000 between 5:30 a.m. and 9:40 a.m. Wednesday in the 300 block of Lotteman Drive.
