So many great people featured in Dowling's third- grade living wax museum.
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Seldom will you find so many great people in one place as were in the Dowling Elementary cafeteria. During a brief visit I saw Tiger Woods, Abraham Lincoln, George W. Bush, Tony Romo and Jesus Christ. These were just a few of the figures featured in Dowling's third- grade living wax museum. Each of the students selected a famous person, researched his/her life, wrote a report and prepared a speech about that person. The students recently dressed up as that person and stood in front of displays they created. Each student wore a tag that read ‘press here' and, when pressed, the student recited facts about their famous person's life. ‘The kids like this project so much because it is hands-on,' said third grade teacher Glenna Herron. ‘And they like to dress up.' Above, Harriet Tubman and Martin Luther King Jr. strike their poses and Jim Bowie, at right, waits for his next visitor.
