The American Legion Riders of Post 430 presented a $500 donation to Doyle Covington and Emmitt Beasley of the Pearl House
The American Legion Riders of Post 430 presented a $500 donation to Doyle Covington and Emmitt Beasley of the Pearl House Jan. 3 in Goldsmith.
The Pearl House is a nonprofit center for displaced women, children and families in the area. Their mission is ‘Keeping the family unit together.'
They operate out of the old Goldsmith Elementary School, providing a place to stay and helping families get back to work and on their feet.
The 64 members of the Legion Riders, along with the Patriot Guard Riders participated in a toy run for Pearl House in December. They also hosted a toy run for the Boys Club with X-treme Cycles of Odessa. The Pearl House is planning on opening a second center on West University Boulevard, but donations are needed. For more information or to donate to the Pearl House, call Doyle Covington at 978-4800 or Emmitt Beasley at 638-5364.
