Oncor Electric Delivery recently presented its second award to the Ector County Independent School District
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Oncor Electric Delivery recently presented its second award to the Ector County Independent School District, $48,435 for upgrading the lighting and heating, ventilation and air conditioning at six elementary schools, Goliad, Hays, Ross, Burleson, Dowling, Travis and Odessa High School, which will help reduce the district's energy bills. The first award presented to ECISD was in the amount of $13,000 in September, 2007. The Texas Schools Conserving Resources (SCORE) Program is a pilot program being sponsored by Oncor Electric Delivery for select school districts to help improve energy efficiency and reduce schools' energy operating costs. Oncor also will provide incentive checks to the school districts based on their documented energy savings. The district is awarded an incentive check when projects are finished and the new equipment is inspected. The annual energy savings achieved by these projects is equivalent to 614 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions, which is on average what 133 cars would emit when driven for an entire year.
