CRANE COUNTY A 29-year-old Odessa man has been released from the hospital after he was injured in a Monday oilfield accident that claimed the life of his 33-year-old coworker.
Marcos Bueno, 29, of Odessa, was taken Monday to Medical Center by the hospital's CareStar air ambulance following a rig accident. A Medical Center Hospital employee said Tuesday that Bueno had been released from the hospital.
Crane County Sheriff Robert DeLeon said 33-year-old Erineo Huerta, of Midland, died in the same accident after a piece of equipment from a pump jack fell on top of him at 3 p.m. Monday at FM 1601, about eight miles north of FM 1233.
DeLeon said Huerta and Bueno were working for Permian Basin Well Service in the north part of Crane County.
