Crime Stoppers reports possible new info in fatal accident
Odessa Crime Stoppers reported Wednesday they received information that another vehicle may have affected the Jan. 13 vehicle accident that killed a 20-year-old Odessa man.
Luis Moreno Bernal lost control of a Chevrolet Aveo while eastbound on Interstate 20, causing him to swerve into westbound traffic where he collided with an 18-wheeler.
“We received information that a light colored SUV supposedly cut off the driver (Bernal), which resulted in him slamming on the brakes and losing control,” Cpl. Sherrie Carruth said.
The day of the accident, Victoria Moreno stated via Facebook, “Luis was on his way to work this morning. According to a witness there were two nissan (sic) trucks racing. Cutting several people off, including my cousin Luis. He did not lose control due to his own distractions.”
Moreno could not be reached Thursday.
