Hispanic Heritage/ORMC hosts Annual Sweetheart Cultural Event

Regional costumes from Mexico were modeled by, from left: Christina Ayala, HHO, ‘Colima;’ Cheri Dalton, Odessa College, ‘La China Poblana;’ Crystal Mares, UTPB, ‘Yucatan;’ Ronnie Reynosa, Odessa American and Love To Dance Studio, ‘Baja California;’ Amy Armstrong, ECISD, ‘Guerrero;’ Esmeralda Arzate, Mi Milo’s Restaurant, ‘Chihuahua;’ Melissa Sierra, La Caliente Radio, ‘Chiapas;’ Rina Gonzales, Univision, ‘Mayen Maiden;’ Debbie Donaldson, ECISD, ‘Oaxaca;’ Sylvia Casas, Sienna Center, ‘Jalisco Lujo;’ Amanda Orona, ECISD, ‘Vera Cruz;’ Ysela Rocha, Fiesta West Texas, ‘Jalisco;’ Gloria King, Sam’s Wholesale Club, ‘Huasteca;’ Letty Moreno, HHO, ‘Aztec Princess.’ At far right, master of ceremonies was Norma Aguilar, Odessa City secretary, and Michael Marrero, Odessa Assistant City manager. Other speakers were: William Webster, Medical Center Hospital chief executive officer, invocation; Enrique Romero, Bank of America branch manager, patriotic moment; Gerardo Arzate, Odessa Regional Medical Center, welcome; and Mike Sanchez, Odessa City Councilman, special presentation. A special recognition was presented to Anabelle Spencer, past LINKS director.
