Police: Raid recovered stolen property, arrested two (+MUGS)

A 29-year-old Andrews woman and a 39-year-old Odessa man were in jail in connection with a Wednesday morning raid at the Sled Shop, 205 W. 50th St., that led to the seizure of vehicles, tools and a trailer reported stolen, a police news release stated.

Barbara Ann Turner, 29, 412 SW 11th St., Andrews, and David M. Parker, 39, were being held in the Ector County Detention Center awaiting bond. Each was charged with first-degree felony possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute. Parker was also charged with two state-jail-felony counts of theft.

Another man, 34-year-old Todd Martin, was arrested during the raid on going off bond charges for felony theft and tampering with governmental records, and misdemeanor warrants. Both Martin and Parker were listed as living at the Sled Shop.

Police recovered a 2001 Suzuki motorcycle worth $4,500 and a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am worth $4,900 dollars, the release stated. The total estimated value of stolen property recovered is between $25,000 to $30,000, the release stated.

Cpl. Sherrie Carruth said about an ounce of methamphetamine was found during Wednesday’s raid. She also said Wednesday’s raid at the Sled Shop was not in connection with Tuesday’s DEA raids in Alpine and at the B&L Book Store, 5890 W. University Boulevard.

OPD’s Narcotic/Vice Unit, SWAT Team, Texas Department of Public Safety, the Ector County Sheriff’s Office and Federal Bureau of Investigations agents assisted in the raid and investigation, the release stated.
