A 37-year-old Odessa woman remained Monday in critical condition after a Friday night collision that killed a 46-year-old Odessa man a mile south of the intersection of Yukon Road and Highway 385.

Carey Keith Kahrs, 46, of Odessa, was pronounced dead at 10:20 p.m. Friday night at Medical Center Hospital, by Dr. Paul Zajac, according to Texas Department of Public Safety reports.

Halona Kay Claunch, 37, of Odessa, was listed in stable condition Monday at MCH.

DPS reports said a 2000 Ford Mustang, driven by April Anchondo Madrid of Odessa, was headed north on Highway 385 and was trying to turn into a parking lot. The report said Kahrs was driving a 2001 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, on which Claunch was a passenger. The motorcycle was traveling south on Highway 385 when the two vehicles collided head-on at 9:51 p.m. Friday.

DPS Sgt. Brian Burney said Madrid was cited at the scene with "no driver's license." No citations were issued relating to the cause of the accident, Burney said.
