UTPB teacher gets award
Comments 0 | Recommend 0The University of Texas Permian Basin's music faculty member Gregory Pysh has won the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) Award in the Concert Music Division for the second straight year.
Pysh teaches music theory and private voice on campus, and he also is the conductor of the UTPB choir and vocal ensemble. He also serves as Minister of Music for the First Presbyterian Church of Midland where he conducts the adult and hand bell choirs for a 1,500-member congregation.
Pysh received a bachelor of music degree in vocal performance from Youngstown State University in Ohio, and a master's degree in choral conducting and voice performance from Bowling Green State University in Ohio.
