COLORADO CITY Funeral arrangements are set for a 24-year-old Odessa welder who was killed Wednesday morning in a Mitchell County rollover accident that also injured two Midland men.
Abilene Department of Public Safety communications operator Charlie Rose said Alexis S. Sanchez was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on State Highway 350 about 24 miles northwest of Colorado City. Oscar Rocha, a 28-year-old Midland man, was flown to University Medical Center in Lubbock with a broken bone and was discharged late Wednesday, while Rose said Adan Delindo, also 28, was taken to Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene with several abrasions. A medical records employee at Hendrick declined to provide Delindo’s condition.
Rose said according to a report from DPS trooper Richard Ricardo Molina, Rocha’s 2008 Ford pickup was heading east on SH 350 when it began to swerve. Rocha overcorrected and the pickup rolled over. The report did not indicate the position of the pickup when it stopped rolling.
A rosary for Sanchez is set for 7 p.m. Friday at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Mass is set for 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
