Suspect remains in jail on $100,000 bond

MIDLAND A 30-year-old Midland woman remained in jail Saturday night after she was charged with murder in the slaying of a 41-year-old man early Saturday morning, authorities said.

A Midland police report stated that Robert Eugene Cain was sitting in his red Isuzu Rodeo at 12:58 a.m. when he was shot three times in the upper torso area in the alley of the 4500 block of Lanham Street. Cain was pronounced dead at the scene.

A Midland Police Department employee said Karen C. Isbell was arrested at her 4509 Lanham St. home and charged with murder. Isbell remained in the Midland County Detention Center on a $100,000 bond.

Cain's body would be taken to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Officer for an autopsy and the investigation continues, the employee said.
