Midland employee fired

MIDLAND A City of Midland employee was fired after they were found guilty in Federal court June 30, 2009, a news released issued by Tina Jauz, assistant to the city manager of Midland said.

Sammy Ray Collins, Jr., 35, was arrested and charged with distribution of a controlled Substance to a minor and using a minor to distribute a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a public school.

Collins worked as a service center tech for the city of Midland.

According to the release Collins still has the right to appeal the termination.
