MEET THE EDUCATOR
- Name: Lauren Crane.
- What she teaches: Third grade.
- Where she teaches: San Jacinto Elementary.
- Lives in: Odessa.
- Grew up: Born in Odessa, family moved to Cairo, Egypt, when I was in kinder and we lived there until I was in fifth grade. We moved to Houston and I attended sixth grade and eventually graduated from Klein Forest High School.
- Graduated from: Texas Tech University graduate 2005; graduated with master’s in educational leadership from UTPB in 2008.
- Family: No children but two dogs, Maxx and ChiKo that are more spoiled than most kids that I know!
- Hobbies: Being a Texas Tech football fan, anything outside, riding my motorcycle and working with kids.
- Why she teaches: The opportunity to change a person’s life and to help kids to learn to be successful and believe in themselves. There is nothing neater than watching a kid get something that they have been struggling with or seeing a student’s confidence grow because you have helped them to do so.
- Her class mission: Guide my students to becoming someone that learns because they love to, not because they are told we should.
