    Litter Force visits Odessa schools

Members of the Don't Mess With Texas Litter Force made a presentation Friday morning to first-grade students at Pease Elementary School in Odessa.

The Litter Force, costumed superhero mascots Hawk, Bolt, Ultra and K-900 and their Evil Trash adversaries have been touring elementary schools throughout the state presenting their message about cleaning up and preventing litter.

Students learned how to identify litter and to dispose of it properly.

This is the second year for the Litter Force program tour. This year about 25 elementary schools, including Pease and San Jacinto in Odessa, are participating in the presentation.

Don't Mess With Texas is a litter prevention/education program developed in 1986 by the Texas Department of Transportation.

Members of the Litter Force team from Austin are Erin Lemons, Shirna Weatherly, Kamon Sams, David Kay and Artisha Baxter.
