Tryon Lewis files for re-election

District 81 State Representative Tryon Lewis has officially filed for re-election.

Covering Ector, Andrews, Ward and Winkler Counties, Rep. Lewis filed Thursday with the Republican Party in Austin.

“It has been a great honor to represent the people of this area in the Texas legislature,” Lewis said in a news release. “Texas has been, and remains, the greatest state in the Union.”

Lewis was first elected to office in 2008 after he defeated Buddy West in the primaries and Libertarian candidate Elmo Hockman in the general election. Lewis also served as the 161st district judge for 21 years before retiring in 2006.
