Jessica Morales is a student at Midland College

MIDLAND COUNTY "Baby Jessica" McClure is now Jessica Morales.

When she was 18 months old, McClure fell into an abandoned water well in Midland and captured international attention during 58 hours of frantic rescue efforts.

Dubbed then as "Baby Jessica," she's now 19 years old and a married woman. People Magazine reported this weekend that McClure was married Saturday at a Church of Christ in a small rural community outside of Midland.

Repeated efforts to reach McClure were unsuccessful Friday and Monday.

According to the matter of record in Sunday's Odessa American, McClure and Daniel M. Morales, 32, were granted a marriage license on Jan. 23 in Ector County.

When McClure, who is now a student at Midland College, turns 25, she stands to earn a trust fund reportedly valued in excess of $1 million, made up of contributions from well-wishers around the world, People reported.

In 1987, after McClure fell down the well, rescue workers furiously worked to free her. After 58 hours, two paramedics were able to lift free the small child - who stole hearts while singing to herself in the well.

In 1988, the Odessa American won the Pulitzer Prize for a photograph of the McClure rescue.
