Odessan arrested in Hobbs
HOBBS, N.M. An Odessa man was arrested and bonded out Friday in connection to accusations of touching a 14-year-old Hobbs girl inappropriately.
Hobbs police officer Mike Stone said Clifton Golden, a retired teacher from Odessa, was charged with criminal sexual conduct with a minor relating to an alleged Feb. 19 incident. Stone said Golden is accused of putting his hands on a girl’s breast after she and a boy were “playfighting” in class at Hobbs Freshman School.
Stone said that Feb. 20, the girl’s mother called Hobbs police to complain. A Hobbs Detention Center spokesman said Golden turned himself in to police Friday and posted the $3,000 bond in the same day.
Stone said that Golden is receiving a pension from the state of Texas and commutes 90 miles each day to work in Hobbs.
