HOBBS, N.M. Three people were arrested Friday in connection to Sunday's robbery of a La Tined Grocery Store in Hobbs, according to a news release from Hobbs Police Deputy Chief Donnie Graham.
Police arrested 22-year-old Juan Garcia, 21-year-old Elise Cortez and 23-year-old Eric Estrada, all of Hobbs. Each of them was charged with a count of armed robbery and a count of conspiracy. All three were being held in the Hobbs Municipal Detention Facility on bonds totaling $75,000 each.
Police received a tip from a caller to Crime Stoppers concerning the whereabouts of a white 2008 Ford Fusion that might have been involved in Sunday's robbery. Following that tip, police went to the Hobbs Apartments and saw the Ford, and then they saw Garcia and Cortez walking from an apartment to the Ford holding suitcases, according to the release.
The release said police approached them and questioned them before determining they were two of the three suspects in the robbery. Estrada was found and arrested shortly afterward.
Police are still investigating the robbery and will be serving several search warrants through the rest of Friday, the release said.
