Hobbs police investigate shooting

HOBBS, N.M. Hobbs police officers are investigating a Monday evening shooting in south Hobbs that left three people wounded.

According to a Hobbs police news release, gunfire broke out about 6:30 p.m. Monday in the roadway at Fifth and East Marland streets in an area of Washington Park. One vehicle collided with another vehicle amidst the gunfire, and at least four people pulled out weapons and fired multiple times, the release stated.

Hobbs residents Jeffrey Walker, 33, Shamus Wright, 26, and Nathaniel Evans, 31, were injured in the incident.

No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting. Hobbs police continue to investigate the incident.
