High divers set up for 32nd annual Permian Basin Fair and Exposition

As the Permian Basin Fair and Exposition prepares to kick off, take a look at some of the acts that are scheduled for the midway this year.

One of those shows is: Bill Brown Entertainment’s high divers.

This fair will feature one of the most exciting thrill acts ever to return to the Permian Basin Fair and Exposition. “High Divers.”

See a diver leap off of a platform at more than 80 feet in the air, equivalent to an eight-story building, spinning and twisting until entering the pool down below.

Reaching speeds greater than 55 mph, he has only 9 1/2 feet in which to change direction to avoid the bottom of the pool.

This is a challenge accepted daily by the divers in each of their shows.

In an article about surviving cancer Bill Brown said, “I love what I do. It’s thrilling enough that it keeps me in shape. And then, look at the things I’ve done and the places I’ve seen. I mean, unbelievable stuff.”

Brown has been high-diving for almost four decades and is still taking fearless leaps off the cliffs in Acapulco made famous by the “Wide World of Sports.”

He also still does a show-stopping “fire dive,” donning a flame-resistant suit doused in gasoline, setting himself ablaze and diving off a 10-meter platform into the extinguishing water. Bill has been producing, performing and directing shows for the past 25 years in the finest Parks in the World.
