ODC to hear update on Texas Tech wind program

The Odessa Development Corp. is set to hear another report from Texas Tech University’s National Institute of Renewable Energy and Texas Wind Energy Institute at its 2 p.m. Thursday meeting in the third floor conference room of Odessa City Hall.
Thus far, ODC has approved a $100,000 payment to the Texas Tech program, which is devoted to bringing more wind energy projects to the West Texas area. Texas Tech receives $75,000 of the payment, while the National Institute for Renewable Energy is paid $25,000.
ODC board members will see the appointment of the officer positions of president, vice president, secretary and treasure, the appointment of compliance and budget committee members and the appointment of board members to the partnership, enterprise and advertising committees.
The board will also review the proposed budget and the General Development Plan for the 2011-2012 fiscal year. The board will hear financial reports, economic agency reports and board project and committee reports.
