Man, 60, accused of sexual assault of 7-year-old boy (+MUG)
The accusations against a 60-year-old man that Odessa police arrested last week on a charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child became clearer Thursday when his arrest warrant affidavit became available.
Nathaniel Green Jr., 2912 Beechwood St., was being held Thursday on a $50,000 bond after Odessa police arrested him Feb. 6 at his home based on a tip from Fort Worth police, an Odessa police spokeswoman said.
An arrest warrant affidavit provided by Tarrant County stated that Green sexually assaulted a 7-year-old boy Oct. 30 while Green was staying with a family member to help her move.
The affidavit stated that Green was helping a family member move out of an apartment, and while the boy’s grandmother and twin brother fell asleep watching an evening football game, Green took the boy to the bedroom, made him lie on his stomach, took off the boy’s shorts and undergarments then had forcible anal sex with the boy. In the affidavit, the boy stated that Green told the boy not to tell anyone about it, then the boy dressed and went back to the living room.
The boy’s grandmother said she noticed the boy not moving around normally and complaining his stomach hurt, then defecating uncontrollably when he tried to go to the bathroom. However, the boy denied that anyone had hurt him until two days later when the grandmother told the boy that Green had left again, the affidavit stated. The grandmother then took the boy to the hospital to be examined and he revealed what had happened, the affidavit stated.
In December, police contacted Green and he denied sexually assaulting the boy, the affidavit stated, but Fort Worth authorities issued an arrest warrant Jan. 5.
