Newt Gingrich, former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, will be speaking at the University of Texas of the Permian Basin next month.

Gingrich, also known for numerous works on politics and religion, is scheduled to speak at 7 p.m. April 15 in the UTPB gymnasium at the as part of the John Ben Shepperd Leadership Institute’s annual Distinguished Lecture Series.

The series has featured best-selling author Malcolm Gladwell and Pulitzer Prize-winning journalists Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward in the recent past.

Just another scumbag whom holds responsibility for America's problems ,,,and we reward him with full salary retirement and full medical benefits,,,,People like this have a lot of gall to be parading around making speeches about anything,,,,,unless he is talking about political corruption,,,, now that he IS an expert on. it was bad enough having to deal with this man while he was in office,,,I really don,t care for him going on "tour", whats worse ,,,he is STILL on the payrolls of congress.

I see the Dem morons are out in full force to comment. Mr Gingrich is a very intelligent and thoughtful man, and I am looking forward to hearing him speak. It is a tremendous opportunity for West Texas, and you nay-saying idiots can just shut up and stay home with your own illusions of self-grandeur.

@ red raider93,,,Nope Not a dem and not a repukeian,,,,Both parties are traitors to America and I will NOT give them support,,,,they are in an ongoing conspiracy to split the classes and I don't care for their actions,,,,they are corrupt crooks and ANYONE that supports them is NO better.,,,Look at the state of our economy,,,,it is a DIRECT RESULT...of the Lobby robberies and the mis management of this country by BOTH parties.,,,the lie wars BOTH parties are waging are nothing but political invasions that are destroying our country economically while the same two parties are getting rich from the war lobby. Both parties are responsible for 95 % of our economic problems,,,,they have had decades to correct some of the mistakes and have not,,,,,to praise ANY of these former outstanding legislators,,,,is a pure JOKE.
