Andrews man convicted
Comments 0 | Recommend 0John Eric Gilliam of Andrews was convicted in federal court on two counts relating to child pornography, U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton said on Friday.
Assistant U.S. Attorney John Klassen said Gilliam was convicted on one count of possession of child pornography and one count of receipt of child pornography. Klassen said Gilliam, 40, had approximately 200 images.
Klassen said the case developed from a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children concerning Gilliam's online activities.
Gilliam's computer was seized in Andrews, and a later investigation led to recovery of the 200 images of prepubescent children that were downloaded from the Internet.
Gilliam faces a sentencing range of five to 20 years in federal prison. He is scheduled for sentencing in February 2009.
