Midland County Sheriff's deputies invesitgate Midland man

MIDLAND Midland County Sheriff's deputies continued to investigate Tuesday after a 38-year-old Midland man was arrested in connection with multiple forgery charges.

Midland County Sheriff Gary Painter said in a news release that deputies are investigating multiple cases of forgery after they discovered multiple computer-generated checks were cashed at local banks and check cashing stores. The sheriff's office originally received a report of forgery on May 23.

David Wayne Kingery, 516 N. Loop 250, was arrested June 14 in the 500 block of North Loop 250 and charged with seven counts of forgery.

Kingery remained Wednesday in the Midland County Detention Center on a $40,000 bond.

Approximate amount of cash lost in the forgery cases was $100,000 as of Tuesday, the news release said.
