Comments 0 | Recommend 0CRANE COUNTY A 31-acre fire kept Crane and West Odessa volunteer firefighters busy through Wednesday afternoon, West Odessa volunteer fire chief Jimmy Ellis said.
No injuries or structural damages were reported in the fire, which the Texas Forest Service reported as being 17 miles southwest of Odessa according to a news release. By late in the afternoon it was 90 percent contained and being left to local firefighters, though an air scout will monitor it today.
The release said a bird shorted an electrical transformer and started the grass fire.
