Blaze causes damages railroad

A 35-acre grass fire caused minor damages to a railroad in Winkler County, Texas Forest Service spokesman Lewis Kearney said.

The fire, located 3 miles northeast of Wink, was estimated to be 90 percent contained by late Thursday afternoon, he said.

The cause of the fire was not known. By 3:12 p.m., the Texas Forest Service sent bulldozers and an air scout to the fire. Kearney said it was too windy for them to send in single engine aircraft.

No injuries were reported.
