Fill the boot
The Odessa Fire Department and the Muscular Dystrophy Association are working together once again.
Mayor Larry Melton is scheduled to make an official proclamation and announcement of Fill-the-Boot efforts for MDA at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Central Fire Station, 1100 W. Second St.
Jalisco’s will donate refreshments for the event.
In 2009, Odessans helped firefighters raise more than $70,000 for MDA through Fill-the-Boot.
MDA is a nonprofit health agency dedicated to curing muscular dystrophy, Lou Gehrig's disease and related diseases by funding worldwide research.
Odessa Fire Department personnel will be working the following locations on Thursday, Friday and Saturday to raise money for MDA:
Fill-the-Boot
Odessa Fire Department personnel will be working four highly used intersection on Thursday, Friday and Saturday to raise money for MDA. On 42nd Street, volunteers will take collections at Tanglewood Lane and at Andrews Highway. On University Boulevard, the boots will out at North West County Road and at Grandview Avenue.
Odessa Fire Department personnel will be working the following locations on Thursday, Friday and Saturday to raise money for MDA:
>> East 42nd Street and Tanglewood Lane.
>> East 42nd Street and Andrews Highway.
>> University Boulevard and North West County Road.
>> University Boulevard and Grandview Avenue.
