OC athletes, students fight

Two people are in jail tonight following a fight involving Odessa College students in a parking lot behind the Barn Door.

OPD Sgt. Ricky Smith said officers pulled over a car leaving the fight and discovered that two of the people involved had outstanding warrants.

While those two individuals went to jail, Odessa College Campus Police Officer Robert Tager said the incident will be investigated.

“We’re looking into the matter,” Tager said.

Since the campus is closed for the Thanksgiving holiday, Tager said a full report should be available on Monday.

An eyewitness said the fight was between some OC men’s basketball players and other students. The fight started in the cafeteria at OC, the witness said, with some students being kicked out of the cafeteria. The fight later resumed at the parking lot.
