Two in federal custody
Comments 0 | Recommend 0A Midland couple wanted for weeks was taken in federal custody after being spotted by U.S. Marshals in Odessa.
Shay Underwood and Lennis Ingle, wanted on federal charges out of Midland, took authorities on a brief chase before being stopped in a parking lot at the corner of Eastridge Road and Loop-338, U.S. Marshal Phill Maxwell said.
Underwood was wanted on a federal drug indictment and Ingle was wanted for violating his federal supervised release, which is equivalent to a parole violation.
The couple’s green Mercury Mountaineer was damaged when U.S. Marshals attempted to pull Underwood and Ingle off the road.
Dillion Luna, visiting from Palestine, Texas, for a safety meeting with Patterson UTI at the MCM Grande FunDome was almost hit by the speeding SUV on the Highway 80 service road.
“I thought the passenger was jumping out,” Luna said.
He then witnessed Ingle, whom Maxwell said was driving, hit a directional sign and throw objects out of the car.
Underwood is being held at the Ector County Correctional Jail. Maxwell said Ingle will be held at the Odessa Detention Center or Ector County Correctional Jail.
