$137,000 in alarm equipment taken
Comments 0 | Recommend 0An alarm company found itself a bit short on security last week when someone was able to take more than $137,000 in equipment from one of its buildings, according to a police report.
About 900 pieces of equipment, including cell units and motion sensors, were taken from a storage building at 3601 Faudree Road #692 between midnight and noon July 8, the report said. The equipment belonged to Utah-based Apex Alarms.
Odessa police Cpl. Sherrie Carruth said the monetary value of the burglary was not unheard of, but “it’s been a while” since someone ran off with such a haul.
The equipment, obviously, was not in use at the time of the theft.
Anyone with information on the burglary of the building and the theft of the alarm equipment can call the Odessa Police Department at 333-3641 or Odessa Crime Stoppers at 333-8477.
