    Midland man killed

    Comments 0 | Recommend 0

A Midland man was killed in an early morning accident.

Todd Edwards, a 21-year-old college student, was driving north on U.S. Highway 87 when he fell asleep at the wheel, Department of Public Safety Communications Operator Jason Culpepper said.

At 1:58 a.m. Edwards' 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe went into a ditch near the Lubbock and Lynn county line. Culpepper said Edwards tried to get back on the road and the vehicle then "rolled several times." The vehicle came to rest in the northbound lane, facing west. Culpepper said Edwards was wearing a seatbelt.

Edwards was pronounced dead at 2:55 a.m.
