Three new board members joining Odessa College will be sworn-in on Tuesday at the community college’s regular meeting of the month. Tommy Clark, Royce Bodiford and Neil Grape will be sworn-in as newly elected representatives to the nine-member board who serve out six-year terms. Clark won the May 11 election over Edward Rowland with 61 percent of the vote, while Bodiford and Grape ran in uncontested races.
Here’s what’s on tap for the 7 p.m. meeting Tuesday in the Joe Zant Jr. Community Room, second floor of the Student Union Building.
>> Trustee Ralph McCain will give an update from the property committee.
>> Trustee Gary Johnson will update the board on any business of the finance committee, including a resolution to establish homestead exemption tax for 2013.
>> Virginia Chisum, the OC vice president for business affairs, will give a quarterly investment report, and the monthly financial statements and budget amendments.
>> Chisum will also announce the appointment of an independent auditor.
>> Board president RayAnn Zant will administer the oath of office for the new board members and speak on the reorganization of the board.
>> An education report on Career Technical Work Education’s growth and expansion by Ian Roark, the dean of that department.
>> An institutional effectiveness report is the topic for Don Wood, the vice president for institutional effectiveness.
>> OC President Greg Williams will talk about: the National Photographic Competition, the natural resource conservation service clinic, the OC jazz band, the “first class free” promotion and an update on adult basic education.
