Get a hold of time and life

The Association of Volunteer Professionals will host national speaker and author Maria Elena Duron to speak on the "Business of Busy-ness" at its monthly meeting on Wednesday.

Designed to promote professional development, encourage volunteerism and expand available resources in the Permian Basin, the AVP's mission goes hand-in-hand with Duron's specialties.

The Champion of Connections coach on CBS television and founder of the Buzz to Bucks personal branding agency, Duron is well known in the executive and business fields for her insight on success and personal development.

As a Midland mom, she knows firsthand the struggles of merging business and leadership with family life and time management. She's also authored "Mouth-to-Mouth Marketing" and "Built by Association" and is highlighted in another book, "Career Distinction."

Wednesday's meeting begins at noon at the UTPB CEED Building on Highway 191 and includes some of Duron's proven techniques for effective time management.

The event is free and open to the public. Bring a lunch and a friend.
