Sex offender sentenced
Comments 0 | Recommend 0A 34-year-old Odessa man was sentenced Tuesday to 35 years in prison by 358th District Court Judge Bill McCoy, District Attorney Bobby Bland said.
Glenn David Turner, a convicted sex offender, was sentenced after being charged in November with failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements, Bland said.
Bland said Turner failed to tell officials where he was working and that it was the third time Turner had failed to meet registration requirements.
"There's a reason they have to let us know where they're at and where they're working," Bland said. "In this case he had (failed to comply) before, and he's going to pay a very stiff penalty for that."
Scott Layh prosecuted the case for Bland's office.
Efforts to reach Turner's attorney, Justin Low, were not successful late Tuesday.
