Odessa police are still looking for a suspect in a reported stabbing early Monday morning.
Cpl. Sherrie Carruth, spokeswoman with the Odessa Police Department, said in an email that officers responded just after 2 a.m. Monday to the 3600 block of Merrill Avenue where they found 29-year-old Francisco Olivas stabbed several times.
Carruth said in the email that Olivas told police he was leaving a bar and noticed a man following him.
As Olivas was trying to evade the man in his vehicle, Carruth said he crashed into a parked vehicle on Merrill, and the other man approached him, opened the door and stabbed him several times.
Carruth said Olivas described the suspect as a Hispanic man about 25 years old with short hair and a long nose.
Olivas was transported to Medical Center Hospital where he was treated and released, she said.
Anyone with information about the incident can call the Odessa Police Department at 432-333-3641 or Odessa Crime Stoppers at 432-333-TIPS.
