A 30-year-old Odessa man and convicted sex offender is accused of sexual assaulting a woman who invited him to her home, according to an arrest warrant.
James Robert Whitaker, 1105 N. Texas Ave., is charged with sexual assault in connection to the incident.
The warrant stated on Oct. 27 an unidentified woman invited Whitaker to her home to watch movies. Shortly after getting to the home he began grabbing the woman’s breast and stopped when she told him to, the warrant stated.
Later, Whitaker showed his penis to the woman and took off her clothes forcing her to have intercourse with him, the warrant stated.
On Oct. 29 the woman reported the incident to the Ector County Sheriff’s Office and was examined by a sexual assault nurse.
The warrant stated Whitaker was a convicted sex offender and a warrant was issued for him Oct. 31.
The Department of Public Safety’s Sex Offender Registry shows Whitaker was convicted of aggravated sexual assault of a child on Feb. 7, 2013, and sentenced to 10 years probation. He will also have to register annually for his lifetime, the site showed.
The site listed Whitaker as a moderate risk.
