A 28-year-old Odessa man was charged with first-degree aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after, court documents state, he stabbed his girlfriend in the upper left thigh with a machete after an argument.

Brandall Steve Green, 613 Express Way, was being held Thursday at the Ector County Detention Center on a $100,000 bond.

Odessa Police officers responded to a stab wound victim on Sept. 27 in the 600 block of Express Way and found 22-year-old Katisha Adams with a stab wound in her thigh, an arrest affidavit stated.

Adams told police at the scene no one stabbed her, but witnesses were telling her “not to lie,” and told officers a black male was inside Adams’ apartment and had left the scene, the affidavit stated.

Adams was taken to Medical Center Hospital where she gave police a statement that Green, identified as her boyfriend, stabbed her in the thigh with a machete during an argument, the affidavit stated.

At 2:24 p.m. Monday, Adams called the police department and advised she did not wish to press charges against Green because she did want to get him in trouble, the affidavit stated.

Green was arrested at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, jail records state.
