Upton County deputy arrest

McCAMEY A 30-year-old Upton County deputy remained in jail Wednesday after being charged with sexual assault of a child.

Upton County Sheriff Dan Brown said deputy Daniel Ancira was terminated from his job Monday when they began an investigation into a claim that he had been sexually involved with a minor.

Brown said Ancira was charged with sexual assault of a child under the age of 17 and was arrested Tuesday.

Ancira was being held in the Upton County Jail on a $25,000 bond.

Brown said Ancira was an Upton County deputy for more than two years.
