Council to consider medical grant
- What: Odessa City Council meeting.
- When: 6 p.m. Tuesday.
- Where: City Council Chambers, fifth floor, City Hall, 411 W. Eighth St.
The Odessa Fire Department may be incorporating an emergency utility vehicle into their fleet if Odessa City Council members approve of their grant application during their meeting Tuesday.
Council members will consider an OFD non-matching grant application to the Texas “J” Regional Advisory Council, or “J” RAC, in the amount of $23,200 for an emergency utility vehicle, or EUV.
If J-RAC approves their application, the OFD has the intent of using the EUV for sports injuries at games at Ratliff Stadium, as well as at parades, the Firecracker Fandango, the Permian Basin Fair and Expo and Rock the Desert.
The OFD is also requesting $7,492.50 from “J” RAC for adult and pediatric EZ-IO needles for medical and trauma patients.
Council members will also consider an interlocal agreement with the Ector County Independent School District that would allow the school district to dispose of excess raw sewage in the city’s collection system.
