Coming home
Airman Reata Cantwell made history in March 2011 while stationed in Afghanistan by being with the first All-female squadron dubbed “The Strike Eagles of Dudette 07.” She was interviewed by the New York Post and the video was seen on ABC Evening News and Fox News. Airman Cantwell served as a fireguard with the ground crew.
Airman Cantwell completed her first tour of duty in Afghanistan and is coming home on R&R. She will return to Mountain Home AFB, in Idaho. The Permian Basin Welcome Home Committee will welcome her at 2:40 p.m. today at Midland International Airport.
GRADUATE OF: Center Point High School (Center Point TX); She attended Sul Ross University for one year where she was a member of the volleyball team, then transferred to Western Texas College in Snyder where she played both volleyball and softball. Prior to joining the Air Force she was an assistant coach for the WTC volleyball team.
Her parents, Charlie and Sharron Cantwell, live in Midland.
